Hi, guys

It’s been a whirlwind of a vacation — we visited so many places and did so many things in just one month that my head is still spinning. I’m trying to slowly get back into writing and reading, catching up with my favorite writers, many of whose stories I’ve missed, and looking for new ones. Writing is still a bit difficult since my kids haven’t started school yet and are doing their best to turn our small apartment into 1) a football field hosting the final of the World Championship, 2) a warzone complete with booby traps and sneak attacks, and 3) a bio laboratory that looks like it’s preparing for world domination. I’m having a hard time finding a safe place to hide with my computer (right now, I’m behind the balcony door, ready to duck under a spiky leather ball, a shell bomb, or a mist of flying mutated bacteria, while also trying to catch whatever meager internet signal comes from the hall).

Don’t worry, I’ll survive. School is just a week away.

Otherwise, my heart feels replenished, and my mind refreshed with the memories of mountains, pools amidst pines, cold evenings spent under the blanket with my hubby, whom I hadn’t seen for more than a month (there’s nothing better for a relationship than a short separation), the bitter smell of…
