As I've mentioned before in one article of mine, I'm happy that English became an international language. It's great that we can mostly understand each other now when we travel. However, it's still not the primary language, so every time I go to a new country, I try to learn a few basic phrases of the local language and use them. If the locals refuse to talk to me in their language - that sometimes happens - then we use English.

Sorry, that was a digression. I really enjoyed this piece, reminded me of Marc Twain's 'The Innocents Abroad' 😊
