Exactly. Sometimes I have nothing to say to a co-citizen and have worlds to share with a foreigner.

Even if we are from the same country, if we have little in common, it can be challenging to get a conversation going, whereas if we share interests, we are ready to start a chat regardless of nationality. I have made many foreign friends and acquaintances in that way.
