I know there’s nothing obligatory but there are some rules one should follow, like counting syllables and apply correct line structure. With some poets who have a musical ear this comes naturally, but since I lack it, I need to follow rules. The trouble is I don’t want to learn because it’s once in a few months that I feel like writing poetry. Yet at these times I wish I was more industrious. 😊
