I remember when I broke up with my first boyfriend. We had been together for eight years, and the impossibility of sharing my thoughts and experiences with him was killing me. On the other hand, as you say, I got 'his eyes' and started seeing the world differently, as if I were him. It was enriching.

I still carry a part of him with me, as well as a part of every person I've lost, for whatever reason. That makes me who I am.
