I'm in two minds about it. On one hand, I know what is to suffer from physical pain for a long time and yes, at one point, the only thing you want is to die. If it's a terminal illness with no hope, I can't accuse anyone of making that decision. For mental illness, though, it's a different story. Nobody can say they have tried everything. There are thousands of ways to cope with that, not just one or two, and I'm talking again as someone who's been there. (And who has many friends and acquaintances who have been there.)

There's also, once euthanasia becomes legal everywhere, the possibility of someone violating that law and committing murder.
