I promised myself that I wouldn’t take up any challenges in April, but here comes JD Nealey with his horror questionnaire,

and then Subhi Najar with his writing survey. You’re irresistible, my friends, and you’re literally forcing me to uncover what should never be uncovered.

So, here we go again…

1. When did you start writing? Is there a specific story?

I don’t remember ‘starting’ to write. Writing has always been there for me, even before I could read and put pen to paper. When I was a little child, stories were in my head, and I used to tell them to my stuffed animals and kindergarten friends. I was in grade two when I first started putting things down. My first written work was a fairy tale. I still keep it safe in a drawer somewhere. It goes like this: ‘A boy lived in a village. A bad magician came and threatened to kill the people in the village unless they gave him all their goats. The magician gave them one night to decide. The people didn’t want to give away the goats but didn’t know how to…
