Remember that Jesus didn't want to perform many signs and most often, wanted to keep them secret. He wanted a faith without signs, faith because of love. If we would be given miracles every time, then we'd side with God because of our interests, not because of love. Also, I believe He's careful not to disrupt the laws of the physical reality we inhabit, or else we'd lose logic and life would be impossible. In that line, I think there are many, far too many providential miracles that we miss - they are His real thing. :)
