Yes, getting something - whatever - from your following is a big issue. I have followed so many people whose articles I never actually see. So I'm forced to go through my following section, look for particular writers and read their work, which is insane. Lately I've been subscribing to everyone whose writing I'm interested in, otherwise I'll simply lose them :(
