You have a point. My children study in an American school here in Thessaloniki and my son felt in love with Lois Lowry (Especially 'Number the Stars') but I remember my daughter, when she read 'One and Only Ivan', she was so shaken that she couldn't sleep. For days she wouldn't stop asking me why there are people who torment and kill animals...you know.

Actually, my kids get their entertaining literature outside school and it shouldn't be so. They could have included some "Wimpy kid; and some David Walliams, just for the fun of it.
